Knife attack in England kills two children

Two children were killed and six others critically injured in a stabbing at a Taylor Swift dance workshop in Southport, England. British police reported the incident, which injured a total of nine children and two adults who are also in critical condition. A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The motive is not immediately clear and is not believed to be terror-related. Police Chief Serena Kennedy noted the assailant was armed with a knife and is suspected to have attacked the children inside the venue. It is believed that the injured adults tried to protect the children. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed the nation’s deep shock, offering sympathy to the victims, families, friends, and the local community. The death toll was confirmed during an evening press conference.
