Øresund travel may get trickier amid intensified checks

Travelers crossing the Øresund strait should anticipate potential delays due to increased police action, says Copenhagen Police’s Chief Inspector Peter Dahl. This follows a statement by the National Police stressing heightened security near borders in response to recent events in Copenhagen and Stockholm. Police will be more visible and conduct random checks in trains, buses, and private vehicles, focusing particularly on Swedes aged 14 to 20. This demographic has been linked to serious crimes in Denmark, including a recent incident where two Swedish teens were charged under the terrorism act related to grenade explosions near the Israeli embassy.
