NATO warns of Russian hybrid threats

NATO has expressed significant concern about ongoing hybrid attacks by Russia, affecting several member states, including the Czech Republic, Estonia, and the UK, among others. These tactics involve numerous activities such as sabotage, cyberattacks, and the dissemination of disinformation impacting societal debates and elections. Examples include GPS jamming to disrupt ship and aircraft navigation in the Baltic Sea and uncovering Russian agents in Norway potentially planning sabotage. Security agencies across Europe have been exposing actions believed to be Russian espionage, including dismantling a network linked to the Voice of Europe online media. The far-right German party AfD has been implicated in receiving pro-Russian funding. NATO calls for vigilance and readiness against such threats and continues to support Ukraine, denouncing Russian activities and insisting on their adherence to international norms. Denmark’s Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen also denounces the Russian activities.
