Final apartment valuations begin in May
The Danish Valuation Agency is dispatching final 2020 valuations for condominiums in May, the first update in about ten years for nearly 300,000 units. Confirmed by the agency’s director, this step is part of ensuring all owner-occupied homes receive a 2020 valuation by the end of the year. Initial valuations are targeted at major cities such as Copenhagen and Aarhus. These assessments form the basis for property taxes from 2021 to 2023, which have been provisionally collected. Homeowners may be eligible for refunds for overpayment due to past overvaluation. Final valuations have been delayed, and none are expected before end of 2023. Property tax for 2024 will rely on a temporary 2022 assessment, with final ones expected in 2025.
