Municipality to thoroughly examine Borup school cases

Køge Municipality intends to comprehensively review all notifications of boundary-crossing behavior at Borup School. Henrik Laybourn, the municipal director of the Children and Education Administration, stated that the review aims to create a full overview of the behavior reports in collaboration with KL – Local Government Denmark and the Ministry of Children and Education for optimal knowledge sharing. The scrutiny follows media reports of primary school children experiencing violence and severe sexual harassment from peers, with the school suggesting three to six children aged six to nine are involved. Minister of Children and Education Mattias Tesfaye expressed reluctance to impose new rules across schools based on a single incident. A meeting with parents is scheduled followed by a media briefing. In the absence of the school leader Jakob Dalgas, who is on sick leave, the assistant head will take over with support from the administration.
