Denmark rethinks F-35 part export rules to Israel

The Danish Ministry of Defense is reconsidering the legal framework for the F-35 spare parts depot after a component was sent to Israel by a U.S. order. The spare parts are owned by the U.S. government until installed in an F-35 aircraft. Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated they’re reviewing the setup with the Justice and Foreign Ministries in light of a Dutch court ruling against Holland for potentially violating the UN Arms Trade Treaty by sending F-35 parts to Israel, which could be used for serious human rights violations. The case has led to similar lawsuits in Denmark. However, leaving the F-35 program is not an option due to security and alliance commitments.
