Denmark confirms third citizen’s death in Ukraine

The Danish Foreign Ministry confirmed the death of a third Danish citizen in the conflict in Ukraine. According to the news outlet Ekstra Bladet, the individual, a 25-year-old soldier, died on September 5, 2023. Last week, the ministry also confirmed two other Danes as missing in Ukraine. The ministry explained they have provided consular assistance in three cases involving the death of Danes since 2022 and are aware of two missing persons. The relatives have been informed, and the ministry is offering consular assistance. The deceased in September worked as a volunteer medic and ambulance driver on the Ukrainian side. Another Danish man’s body was found at the frontline in Ukraine; he had been killed in 2022. The Foreign Ministry is bound by confidentiality and couldn’t provide further details on the activities of the Danes in Ukraine.
