Greenland news team back to work during vote

Employees at KNR’s news department in Greenland have resumed work amidst the parliamentary election campaign, after initially ceasing work due to high stress and staff shortages. The action, affecting 16 staff, disrupted news during heightened international interest due to President Trump’s interest in purchasing Greenland. KNR’s acting director expressed understanding, acknowledging the strain on the few employees. The Danish news broadcast at KNR will suspend operations from March 3 for an unspecified period. An agreement was reached to support the early morning Greenlandic news staff with a professional journalist and ensure workers maintain regular hours. Interim KNR director, Bjørk Lange Olsen, condemned the stoppage as unacceptable and a violation of the collective agreement.
