Global IT Outage dubbed unacceptable error

On Friday, airports, media outlets, banks, and authorities worldwide experienced IT issues due to a likely faulty update of the CrowdStrike program, which caused crashes in computers using certain Microsoft operating systems. According to IT security expert Peter Kruse, CrowdStrike is one of the most widespread security programs globally, primarily affecting enterprises, not private users. The issue has also affected Denmark’s DSB website and the Capital’s Emergency Services’ ability to receive automatic fire alarms. Kruse warns of a domino effect from the flawed update, foreseeing significant implications for CrowdStrike’s reputation and trust with clients. While malicious intent hasn’t been ruled out, the indications suggest a severe oversight by CrowdStrike.
