Diplomatic disaster at Trump-Zelenskyj meeting
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen declared the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj as a diplomatic catastrophe. During Zelenskyj’s White House visit to sign a mineral agreement, an argument erupted between Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Zelenskyj on live television. After the incident, Rasmussen expressed support to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha. He emphasized the importance of Europe taking a stronger stance independently following recent messages from the U.S. Denmark is actively working to reinforce Europe and Ukraine’s resilience. Rasmussen also mentioned Denmark’s efforts at the UN Security Council to clarify Russia as the aggressor in the conflict.
