London’s Heathrow Airport is closed Friday due to a fire at a transformer station leading to significant power outages. The airport advises passengers not to travel there and anticipates severe travel disruptions in the coming days. Around 150 people were evacuated, with a 200-meter exclusion zone set up. Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters are tackling the blaze. The cause of the fire and the time when power will be restored are unclear. There are no reported injuries. The power outage also affects over 16,300 households in surrounding areas.
