Curator seeks millions from Nordic Waste

The state’s legal counsel Kammeradvokaten is examining if they can recuperate millions in dividends from the founders of bankrupt Nordic Waste. The investigation, as stated by Boris Frederiksen, the curator, will scrutinize dividend distributions and financial transfers from the company. A total of 96.3 million Danish kroner was paid out between Nordic Waste and DSH Recycling from 2018 to 2022. The case became prominent following a hazardous landslide in December, with authorities dealing with subsequent environmental risks. Nordic Waste handed cleanup responsibilities to Randers Municipality, who now disputes the financial responsibility for the 663 million kroner cleanup cost. Frederiksen highlights the need to establish responsibility for such high expenses and clear those who are not responsible. Attempts to interview the five Nordic Waste founders have been unsuccessful.
