Swedish newspaper calls Øresund Bridge priciest crossing

The Øresund Bridge is celebrating its 25th anniversary, but it recently received the unwelcome title of being the world’s most expensive bridge to cross. The Swedish newspaper Sydsvenskan reports that, for a single journey, the cost is 510 DKK, making it the priciest globally. Even with the Øresund Go subscription, it remains the most expensive for the first five trips. The bridge’s high fees result from the need for users to fully fund its construction without tax contributions. Built for 14.8 billion DKK, its loans are being paid off by users, with a repayment timeline extending to 2050. Sydsvenskan used ChatGPT Deep Research to verify tolls worldwide, confirming the Øresund Bridge as the most costly compared to other major global and European bridges.
