Involvement sought in royal finances
The Danish government is still preparing a bill to define the royal finances following the change in monarchy this past January. The Danish Social Liberal Party finance spokesperson, Samira Nawa, has asked Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen in a parliamentary query if discussions with political parties regarding the civil list’s contents are planned. Nawa is also advocating for increased transparency in the royal household’s financial dealings. She emphasizes that the civil list should not solely be an agreement between the royal house and the Prime Minister’s office viewed only once it is shaped into a bill. Furthermore, she insists on more openness about criteria for royal warrant holders.
