Crown prince Christian runs solo in Royal Run

Crown Prince Christian will participate without his parents in the Royal Run in Brønderslev on Whit Monday, as announced on Instagram by the royal household. King Frederik kicks off the race day in Fredericia, then moves on to Aarhus, and finally Copenhagen. Queen Mary will join in Kalundborg. This event marks the first time the crown prince will run with his new title, assumed after the January royal transition. Last year, he ran just as a prince and announced his participation late, alongside his siblings. The Royal Run, which started in 2018 to celebrate King Frederik’s 50th birthday, hits a record this year with 95,000 participants. Initial entries sold out in December, and an additional 7,500 spots were quickly snatched up in January, according to the organizers, the Danish Sports Confederation (DIF) and DGI.
