Right-wing parties unite to regain trust
The center-right parties in Denmark understand the decline in public trust following years of conflicts and divisions and are now announcing a joint effort to form a conservative government. Party leaders from Liberal Alliance, Denmark’s Democrats, The Conservative Party, and the Danish People’s Party emphasized this initiative in an op-ed in Berlingske. They aim to develop concrete political proposals that all four parties support to define a conservative direction for Denmark by 2025. They’re challenging the Social Democrats by framing Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s lack of opposition candidates as a personal issue. However, the Social Democrats’ political spokesperson, Christian Rabjerg Madsen, dismisses these claims, pointing out the parties’ significant disagreements on major political topics. As the aim for a solid conservative foundation grows, the center-right parties continue striving towards a closer collaboration.
