Norway’s PM highlights seas in crisis response

Norway’s Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, has welcomed Sweden’s Ulf Kristersson and Finland’s Alexander Stubb to discuss civil and military cooperation in Bodø. Støre emphasized the sea’s vital role in crisis support, though details of specific plans were not disclosed. The meeting, started with a tour of a coast guard ship, is held ahead of a NATO summit where Finland and Sweden will participate for the first time since joining the alliance post-Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The choice of Bodø for the meeting is strategic, not only for its maritime location but also for its proximity to Sweden and the Norwegian defense headquarters.
