PM: End violence in streets now
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen demands an immediate halt to violent street events, calling them wholly unacceptable and contrary to the desired state of Denmark. Following a surge in gang conflicts, with shootings and explosions by young Swedes committing crimes in Denmark, Frederiksen emphasizes the gravity of the situation. A written statement announced government attention to the problem and upcoming meetings with the Minister of Justice and National Police Chief to discuss necessary police tools. Since April, at least 13 serious incidents involving Swedes have occurred, including three this week. Denmark has already ramped up border control and police resources, including cross-border police stationing. Also, new visitation zones have been instituted in Copenhagen due to recent shootings.
