Claes Antonsen apologizes for sexist behavior
Claes Antonsen, drummer for The Antonelli Orchestra, has apologized for his sexist conduct following allegations in the documentary ‘Sexism in the music industry.’ Antonsen expressed remorse on Facebook, acknowledging his behavior and language negatively affected women’s sense of professional integrity, reducing them to being judged on appearance. The documentary, which aired on Monday, features anonymous accounts including from singers Katinka Bjerregaard and Mathilde Falch about incidents during the production of the TV show ‘Top of the Pops’ in 2021. Production company Mastiff initiated an investigation after the documentary, and TV 2 has launched a new probe into Mastiff’s handling of the issue, considering it insufficient. Following the documentary, rappers Tessa and singer Malthe Ebert have canceled concerts with The Antonelli Orchestra, not wanting to be associated with the culture highlighted.
