Enhedslisten co-founder Jette Gottlieb quits
Jette Gottlieb, a long-time member of the Danish Parliament for the Enhedslisten party, has announced her departure by the end of October. Gottlieb, who played a role in founding Enhedslisten in 1989, was first elected in 1994, served until 2001, and then re-entered the Parliament in 2019. She endorses the party’s rotation policy and believes it’s appropriate to step down timely to ensure a smooth handover before the next election. Throughout her political career, she has focused on green redistribution, strong unions, a solid social safety net, and quality public transportation. She has held various spokesperson roles and worked beyond politics as a high school teacher and carpenter, including multiple assignments with UNHCR.
