De Radikale propose free school meals

The Danish political party ‘De Radikale’ aims to reallocate societal resources in their 2030 economic plan ‘A New Generation Contract,’ prioritizing children over the elderly. They propose a ‘child lift’ initiative investing 15 billion kroner annually to improve childcare and provide free, healthy school meals to all pupils, emphasizing support for underprivileged children and family time-saving benefits. To fund these and green investments, they suggest phasing out two pension arrangements, including ‘Arne-pensionen,’ by 2030, while maintaining pensions only for those physically worn out from work. This shift is justified by the potential of active seniors’ skills and experiences in the labor market. Despite the plan’s conflicts with Socialdemokratiet’s stance on ‘Arne-pensionen,’ De Radikale leader Martin Lidegaard remains open to government collaboration without ultimatums.
