Denmark, Netherlands: Send air defense to Ukraine

Denmark, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic are urging Europe to provide air defense systems to Ukraine quickly, stated during a NATO meeting with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels. German recently agreed to send an additional Patriot system to Ukraine, a move welcomed by the allies, but not considered sufficient given the significant number of air defense systems within the alliance. NATO and European countries can offer more support, acknowledged by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Ukrainian President Zelenskyj questioned the disparity between the defense support Israel receives against Iranian drones and the assistance Ukraine gets against similar threats. The three countries, already involved in supplying Ukraine with ammunition and artillery, aim to enhance their cooperation to include air defense. The main challenge, as noted by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, is obtaining the actual systems, as opposed to financing them.
