Denmark and EU allocate 4.2 billion DKK to Ukrainian arms

Denmark and the EU have agreed to provide 4.2 billion DKK to support Ukraine’s defense industry, as announced by Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen in Kyiv. Denmark is contributing 1.3 billion DKK, with the remaining 2.9 billion DKK coming from frozen Russian assets allocated by Denmark on behalf of the EU. This initiative aligns with Ukrainian government’s prioritized requests and aims to bolster Ukraine’s capacity for self-defense. Lund Poulsen suggested Denmark will manage a larger amount than the current 400 million euros on behalf of the EU from 2025. Previously in May, Denmark signed an agreement to invest in drones, missiles, and artillery produced in Ukraine. Denmark has already funded 18 artillery pieces produced in Ukraine, which were delivered in a matter of months. Additionally, Denmark has established a defense industrial hub in Kyiv to facilitate collaboration between Danish defense companies and the Ukrainian defense industry.
