Moderates ordered to address toxic work environment

Denmark’s Working Environment Authority has mandated the Moderates party remedy issues of harassment and bullying noted during a September review. Ekstra Bladet reveals that employees suffered from demeaning behavior, including mockery and criticism of their abilities and appearance, leading to a hostile work atmosphere. The negativity extended to various workplace settings and communication platforms. Moreover, there were instances of group formations and exclusions, contributing to a fear of committing errors under strict managerial reprimands. The toxic environment manifested in stress symptoms among staffers. Following an organizational restructuring, ten employees left the party’s secretariat, and the party secretary resigned. The interim party secretary, Morten E.G. Brautsch, is taking the allegations seriously and addressing the necessary changes. The scandal has also politically impacted the party, with a drop in both membership and poll ratings.
