Danish royalty to miss Norwegian princess wedding
The Danish royal family will not attend the wedding of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway to the self-proclaimed shaman Durek Verrett on Saturday in Geiranger, Norway. The communication department of the Danish royal house confirmed this to Billed-Bladet. Princess Märtha Louise, the eldest child of the Norwegian royal couple but not the heir to the throne, will celebrate her wedding from Thursday evening, with the ceremony taking place at Hotel Union in Geiranger. The Norwegian royal family, however, will be represented by the king, queen, crown prince, and crown princess. The guest list remains private. The Swedish royal couple will not attend either, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son, Marius Borg Høiby, will also be absent following recent controversy. The wedding ceremony coverage is exclusively granted to British Hello Magazine, drawing criticism from Norwegian media. A documentary about the princess and Verrett is also in the works, possibly for Netflix.
