Council investigates lawyers after documentary

Following TV 2’s documentary ‘Den sorte svane’, the Danish Bar and Law Society has initiated an investigation into two lawyers featured in the program. The documentary casts doubt on whether these lawyers have complied with the rules and obligations of their profession. It shows lawyer Nicolai Dyhr advising criminals on fraud and being fired from Horten law firm as a result. Another lawyer, Lise Roulund, is seen facilitating money laundering for a Bandidos biker for over a year while also representing him. Martin Lavesen, head of the Council, emphasized that lawyers should not assist in illegal activities and conveyed his concern and disapproval of the lawyers’ actions in the documentary. The Council has started investigating with the available supervisory tools and will determine whether to bring a case or take other supervisory actions. Details about the ongoing investigations are confidential due to increased secrecy obligations.
