Georgia school shooter’s father arrested
The father of a 14-year-old boy suspected of killing four people in a Georgia school shooting was arrested on Thursday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) reported. The father, 54-year-old Colin Gray, is charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, eight counts of child abuse, and two counts of second-degree murder for allowing his son Colt access to a firearm. Last year, both Colt and his father were interviewed by the police regarding online threats of a school shooting, but no arrests were made then, as per the FBI. During an attack on Wednesday with a semi-automatic rifle, two students and two teachers were killed, and nine others were injured. The source of the firearm and the suspect’s motive have not been revealed. This follows previous cases where U.S. authorities have sought to hold parents legally accountable for school shootings.
