Danish online shopping from Chinese stores doubles

The annual e-commerce report by Nets shows a sharp increase in Danish consumers purchasing from Chinese webshops such as Alibaba, Wish, and Temu. The survey, involving over 3000 Danes, indicates that 9% shop on a Chinese website in any given month, nearly doubling the 5% from the previous report. Although many search for quality goods abroad, there is a rising number of customers buying low-quality items at very low prices, especially from Temu. About 75% of Danes have shopped from a foreign webshop, with German and Swedish shops being the most popular. In contrast, 25% refuse to buy from foreign online shops. Danish webshops struggle with the price and range competition from large international stores. However, consumers favor sustainable shipping, local payment options like Dankort, and shops that prioritize ethical and environmental considerations.
