Denmark-Czech Republic Bolster Arms Aid to Ukraine
Denmark and the Czech Republic have formalized an agreement to provide Ukraine with weapons and military equipment. Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen emphasizes this strengthens the ties with the Czechs and will lead to more donations through the Czech Republic. Since November 2023, after earlier collaborations on weapon supplies, the countries have now signed a memorandum of understanding. The Czech Deputy Defence Minister Daniel Blažkovec noted this cooperation is pivotal for ongoing military support to Ukraine. Denmark finances while the Czech Republic contracts local arms producers, boasting significant weapon manufacturing capabilities. Europe faces donation hesitations while NATO has invested in military assistance, with the US as the top contributor.
