Historic low poll for Danish Social Democrats
The Social Democratic Party in Denmark is predicted to receive its lowest vote share in more than 120 years, with a recent Voxmeter poll indicating only 19.6% support. The party is experiencing a consistent decline, as demonstrated by February’s poll where they stood at 22.9%. Despite this trend, they were still the largest in the last election with 27.5% of the vote. The current downturn leaves the government coalition with just 61 seats, a significant drop from the 89 secured in the 2022 election. The party’s political spokesman, Rasmus Stoklund, asserts that there is still time within their term to impact voters with their policies on the economy, defense, vocational education, and eldercare. The Socialist People’s Party and the Liberal Alliance are on track to be the second and third largest parties, respectively. The poll was conducted with a sample of 1,002 voters between March 18-24.
