Denmark’s first energy park to open in Jutland

Morten Dahlin, Minister for Cities and Rural Areas, has designated the first energy park focused on Power-to-X technology in Idomlund near Holstebro, as stated on the Ministry’s website. This initiative is a key step in Denmark’s green ambitions and aims to provide energy security and create jobs and growth locally. Power-to-X involves using electricity from renewable sources to produce hydrogen and is integral to Denmark’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 70% from 1990 levels. Holstebro’s Mayor, H.C. Østerby, looks forward to the park spurring production linked to green power from the North Sea wind and land-based renewables. Kristian Jensen, CEO of Green Power Denmark, endorses Idomlund as an ideal location for the energy park, urging the planning of hydrogen infrastructure phases to maximize benefit and stimulate development and employment.
