600 food boxes for stranded motorists
On Thursday, authorities distributed well over 600 bags of food and drink to stranded motorists in East Jutland, the Jutland police told Ritzau at the end of the day. The Danish Emergency Management Agency was responsible for the delivery, according to the East Jutland Police, which was responsible for coordinating the effort. Among others, on the E45 motorway a large number of motorists were stranded for hours due to the snow. At one point, there was a queue of 30 kilometres on the highway. On Thursday, it was reduced to a length of about 10 kilometres, and by late afternoon Thursday it was reported that traffic was picking up again. On X, police wrote a little before 6 p.m. Thursday that the queue between Tilst and Ødum was running normally again. But there were still vehicles in the emergency lane that were abandoned. They were to be removed, with owners to be notified where they can pick up their vehicles, the message read. /ritzau/
