Ziegler says not in contention for Conservative head

Michael Ziegler, acting chairman of the Conservative Party after Søren Pape Poulsen’s passing, has recommended that the new political leader also becomes the party chairman. He has declined to comment on potential candidates, instead opting to rerun for the vice-chairman position. Although facing health challenges after being diagnosed with acute leukemia, Ziegler assures he’s fully capable of fulfilling his duties. The Conservative Party is yet to name a new leader, with Mona Juul and Mette Abildgaard mentioned as possibilities, though Abildgaard has declined to pursue the position, citing family concerns. No other parliamentary group members have publicly expressed interest in the chairmanship.
