Danish lifts to rescue Ukrainians from bombed high-rises
Denmark has assisted Ukraine by delivering seven 45-meter rescue lifts, completing a donation of a total of 18 lifts valued at about 130 million kroner. Laila Reenberg, director of the Danish Emergency Management Agency, stated that the rescue equipment would make a difference in the Ukrainian authorities’ efforts. The handover of the last batch of lifts to Ukraine’s emergency services occurred last Thursday. With a 2024 grant package for civil protection worth 160 million kroner, Denmark is also providing smoke diving equipment and training. The donation, announced in June amid attacks on Ukraine’s civil infrastructure, is intended to support Ukraine in saving lives and addressing the war’s impact on civilians.
