Mette-Marit’s son Marius detained for rape charge

Marius Borg Høiby, son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been remanded in custody for a week, charged with rape of another sexual nature than intercourse. The remand came after a lengthy court hearing in Oslo and includes a ban on communication. Arrested Monday night, he stands accused in two rape cases, unveiled through videos found on his phone. The alleged victim, a woman in her twenties, was purportedly unable to resist. Høiby denies the charges. His detention aims to secure evidence integrity. He is Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son but is not formally part of the royal family.
