Ukraine strikes another bridge in Russia
Ukraine’s Air Force led an attack on a bridge in Russia’s Kursk region on Sunday, following a similar strike on another bridge days prior. The action was part of a campaign to disrupt Russia’s logistics, according to Air Force head Mykola Oleshchuk. The bridge spanned the Sejm River, near Zvannoje village, close to the border. Since August 6, Ukrainian forces have advanced in Kursk and the neighboring Belgorod region, marking the most significant foreign attacks on Russian soil since World War II. Ukraine also hit an oil depot in Rostov with drones. No casualties were reported from the attacks. Due to these events, Russia has evacuated over 121,000 people from Kursk and around 11,000 from parts of Belgorod, shifting some focus from the central conflict in Ukraine that started with Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
