Rise in reactive behavior in young students

In Danish schools, there’s a rise in outwardly aggressive behavior among young students, with increasing use of harsh language. Despite this, severe infractions of school rules have not seen a general uptick. After incidents in Borup and Agedrup schools, the Ministry of Education conducted a survey to assess changes for school regulations. The Association of Municipalities does not see a need for significant changes but suggests bolstering parts of the conduct code, including better provisions for schools to send students home or reduce their hours temporarily. Multiple data sources informed the survey findings, involving the School and Parents organization, a teachers’ union study on violence, work environment oversight, and municipal input. Prime Minister Frederiksen supports changes to protect most children from disruptive peers.
