July tourist flow falls short of last tear

Denmark saw 12 million tourist overnight stays in July, but the number couldn’t reach the record set in 2022 or the previous year’s figures. Overnight stays, including those at hotels, holiday centers, camping sites, and holiday homes, were down by 1% from last year and 6% from 2022 levels, with a shortfall of 167,000 stays. A significant reason for the decline may lie with the unfavorable exchange rate in neighboring countries Norway and Sweden, resulting in a decrease of 159,000 Norwegian and 30,000 Swedish overnight stays. Danish guests also recorded 60,000 fewer stays compared to last July. On the brighter side, more Americans are visiting, and the number of stays by British tourists has increased.
