Denmark tightens warning for its citizens in Lebanon

On Sunday, Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs escalated its warning, urging Danes to leave Lebanon. This follows Israel warning of the risk of a full-scale war with Hezbollah, which originates from Lebanon. The announcement came after 12 children and adolescents had been reported killed in a rocket attack at a football field in the Golan Heights, which Israel occupies, an attack that Israel attributes to Hezbollah, though denied by the group. In response, Israel carried out several airstrikes in Lebanon. With the rising tensions, Denmark had already advised against travel to both Israel and Lebanon from early July. As the security situation could deteriorate rapidly, the Ministry warns that commercial flight options could cease or be severely limited and become very expensive. Danish nationals might also find limited assistance available from Danish authorities.
