Woman, 26, convicted for stabbing man to death in Amager
An altercation turned fatal for a 28-year-old man who died after being repeatedly stabbed by a woman on Amager in July last year. The stabbing occurred outside a parking lot on Amagerfælledvej. Copenhagen City Court sentenced the now 26-year-old woman to six years and three months in prison for aggravated assault resulting in death. She admitted to the stabbing but claimed self-defense. They had known each other for about three weeks before the incident, during which the man had hit her and stolen her phone. The court emphasized her actions escalated the situation unnecessarily and that she didn’t help the man when he was helpless after the stabbings. She is considering appealing the verdict and apologized in court to the deceased’s relatives, stating she panicked.
