Minister to investigate school incidents

Education Minister Mattias Tesfaye (S) aims to find out if problematic behaviors at Borup School in Køge Municipality indicate a wider trend across Danish schools. Disturbing reports of boundary-crossing behavior, violence, and severe sexual assaults involving elementary students aged 6 to 9 years have emerged from Borup School. A message from the school’s head, Jakob Dalgas, disclosed that 3 to 6 children were implicated. Due to opposition, a policy requiring students to pair up when going to the bathroom has been rescinded. Over 25 reports of similar issues have been received by TV2, highlighting concerns beyond the single school. The mayor of Køge, Marie Stærke, described the situation as ‘tragic’ and suggested that the response from the administration could have been better handled.
