Danish intel sees increased spy threat to Ukraine support

Danish intelligence services, PET and FE, perceive a heightened risk of Russian espionage, targeting Danish authorities, companies, and organizations involved with military support to Ukraine. Anders Henriksen from PET suggests Russia now recruits in Russia rather than operating with agents in Denmark. Anja Dalgaard-Nielsen from FE warns of the high threat of sabotage and describes hybrid warfare tactics ranging from aggressive rhetoric to espionage and misinformation campaigns, and up to sabotage actions. NATO has expressed concern about Russia’s hostile activities in Europe. While FE does not see Russia desiring direct conflict with NATO, they assert the importance of public awareness without inciting fear among citizens. Incidents in Great Britain and Germany are being investigated as potential examples of Russian hybrid warfare.
