Danish fishermen rejoice over EU-UK agreement

Danish fishermen are pleased with a fisheries agreement between the EU and the UK. As part of a broader restart of relations, the agreement allows EU fishermen access to British waters for 12 more years, offering stability for the future, says Danmarks Fiskeriforening and Danmarks Pelagiske Producent Organisation. Svend-Erik Andersen, from Danmarks Fiskeriforening, highlights the importance of stable conditions for business. Minister Jacob Jensen states that the agreement benefits Danish fishermen and consumers by easing food trade and reducing administrative burdens post-Brexit. Despite the positive development, some issues remain unresolved, including fishing rights for species like sand eels. Jens Schneider Rasmussen points out that the agreement doesn’t eliminate potential barriers for EU fishermen. While the agreement has yet to be reviewed in detail, the move towards closer UK relations is welcomed.
