Officer gravely injured in training accident

A policeman is in a very grave condition after an accidental shooting during police firearms training on Thursday. The incident occurred at a closed training area on Selsmosevej in Taastrup, where he was accidentally shot in the body by a colleague. Emergency services quickly transported him to the hospital. The Independent Police Complaints Authority (DUP) is now investigating the incident. DUP received notification on Thursday that a police employee was accidentally shot shortly before. They will compile a report once the investigation is concluded, which will be handed over to the Public Prosecutor. The relatives of the injured have been informed. Currently, neither the Copenhagen Vestegn Police nor DUP are providing further details.
