Long-time Rockwool CEO Steps Down

After nine years, Jens Birgersson is stepping down as CEO of Rockwool. In a statement released by the company, he expresses pride in their progress and results, and desires to now focus on family and new interests. Rockwool, known for producing insulation for the construction sector, will be succeeded by Jes Munk Hansen, current CEO of Terma and part of Rockwool’s board for the past year. Hansen emphasizes the importance of aligning energy efficiency, sustainability, and business outcomes. The change in leadership occurs amidst criticism of Rockwool for its continued operations in Russia post-invasion of Ukraine, including being blacklisted by Ukraine’s anti-corruption agency NACP for trading with the Russian state. Birgersson will remain in his role until Jes Munk Hansen takes over by September 1st.
