DI chief: Trump’s win a wake-up call for Europe
According to Lars Sandahl Sørensen, the CEO of the Confederation of Danish Industry (Dansk Industri), Donald Trump’s election victory could make it more difficult for Danish companies to do business in the USA due to potential new trade restrictions aimed at protecting American jobs and the economy. Danish companies have been investing more in the US as business conditions in Europe have worsened. Sørensen views this period as a test for European unity and cooperation and stresses the need for the EU to become more competitive. Despite the challenges, the election result may also offer opportunities, as a stronger US economy means more investments beneficial to Danish companies, which are adept at finding new trading partners under difficult circumstances. The demand for green technologies in the US is expected to remain high.
