Woman from North Jutland dies after drowning in Norway

A 49-year-old woman from North Jutland, Denmark, has died following a drowning accident off the island of Justøya in Lillesand municipality in southern Norway. Agder police informed NTB news agency about the incident that occurred overnight into Sunday. Norwegian media had reported on the accident on Sunday, but at that time, the woman was not declared deceased. The woman, a resident of North Jutland, was visiting Norway with close family members and friends when the incident occurred. Agder police have interviewed witnesses and gathered relevant information. Authorities attempted resuscitation after the woman was pulled from the water, but were unable to save her life. The police have disclosed no further details about the events, and there seems to be no criminal aspect involved. An autopsy will be performed, although current evidence suggests the incident was an accident.
