Wood Wood revived: Acquired by fashion group
Clothing brand Wood Wood will continue to exist after the company behind the Copenhagen-based brand went bankrupt two weeks ago. DK Company has purchased the rights from the bankruptcy estate, confirmed by its founder and CEO, Jens Poulsen. Founded in Nørrebro in 2002, Wood Wood suffered losses for years due to rapid growth and international store expansions. The Lunøe family had invested in the company at some point. Following a cost reduction and closure of several stores in 2022, the year still concluded with a 32 million kroner loss. Learning from the past, DK Company will not continue Wood Wood’s retail stores but will focus on wholesale, which they specialize in. Five Wood Wood employees will transition to DK Company.
