Ritzau’s Editor-in-Chief steps down after 16 years
Lars Vesterløkke will resign on May 31 from his roles as the CEO and editor-in-chief of Ritzaus Bureau, Denmark’s largest news agency, after 16 years. Following his departure, he will work as a consultant. Vesterløkke, a 66-year-old journalist, joined Ritzaus Bureau as its head in 2008, and prior to that, he had a long tenure at Danish Broadcasting Coorporation, where he served as program director from 2001 to 2007 and was temporary general director between 2004 and 2005. Under his leadership, Ritzau has undergone significant changes, including the acquisitions of smaller news agencies such as Direkt and Newspaq, as well as the former news agency of Berlingske.
