Bonnier revenue drops despite digital growth

Bonnier Publications experienced a 47 million kroner drop in revenue last year despite a 30% increase in digital subscription income. The company, known for magazines like ‘Illustreret Videnskab’, ‘Bo Bedre’, and ‘Bil Magasinet’, attributes the decline partly to a decrease in demand for print media, prompting a shift towards digital readership. CEO Jesper Buchvald expressed satisfaction with the subscription revenue and noted the remarkable feat of achieving stable results and digital transformation in a challenging market. The sale of ‘Vi i Villa’ magazine, which had a revenue of 28 million kroner in 2023, also contributed to the reduced revenue. Although the overall revenue dipped to 508 million kroner in 2024 from 760 million in 2020, the company improved its operating profit from 24.5 million to 26.5 million kroner.
